I am pleased to announce that my submission to the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year (SLPOTY) Competition 2018 has won an award of a Commendation in the Overall Title category. I also had one image shortlisted in the 4 Seasons category.
Unlike a lot of major photography competitions, the award winner of this competition is not based on a single image, instead the grand title “Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year” is awarded to the photographer whom in the opinion of the judges has entered the best set of three landscape images into the competition.
There is one Overall Winner, one Runner Up, two Highly Commended award winners, and four Commended award winners in this Overall Title category, and I am very pleased to be one of the four Commended award winners. My congratulations go to the Overall Winner Allan Donald.
These are my three winning images from my portfolio submission; the theme of my portfolio is based upon the ‘Beast from the East’ storm that hit the east coast of Scotland in early Spring of 2018. The images were all taken from, or in the vicinity of North Berwick, East Lothian.
As a result of this, two of my three winning images are going to appear in the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year Official Collection 5 Yearbook, and my images will also be displayed at one of the competition exhibitions which will take place during 2019.
Full details of the competition and the list of all of this years winners can be found on the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year website:
