I am pleased to announce that my submission to the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year (SLPOTY) Competition 2017 has won an award of a Commendation in the Seascape category.
Unlike a lot of major photography competitions, the award winner of this competition is not based on a single image, instead the grand title “Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year” is awarded to the photographer whom in the opinion of the judges has entered the best set of three landscape images into the competition. My congratulation to the Overall Winner Paul Webster. There are also single image categories for Landscapes, Seascapes and Urban images, as well as some specific specialised categories.
This is my winning image: a photo of the ‘Bridge to Nowhere’ at Belhaven Beach, Dunbar, East Lothian, Scotland
As a result of this, my winning image is going to appear in the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year Official Collection 4 Yearbook, and my image will also be displayed at one of the competition exhibitions which will take place during 2018.
Full details of the competition and the list of all of this years winners can be found on the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year website:
