Chernobyl 2021 – The Ghost City of Pripyat

21 December 2021 | Photography, Travel, Video

In the Fall of 2021 along with a group of 14 other intrepid Photographers and Drone Pilots we ventured into the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone for some fun and photography. A week that will live long in our memories!

Pripyat (abandoned) and Chernobyl (partially abandoned) are cities in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, situated in northern Ukraine, about 90 kilometres (60 mi) north of Kyiv.

Here are a few of the images… you can find many more in my Chernobyl 2021 gallery.

Pripyat and Chernobyl were abandoned following the Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster in 1986. It is now considered relatively safe to visit Pripyat and its surroundings, unless you go with the guys I went with :o)

The following is a video slideshow of the trip, mainly taken around the ghost city of Pripyat and the nearby Duga Cold War Radar Station, which is partly why the reactors were there, in order to power this massive radar structure. Duga is just a few miles from the Chernobyl Reactors.
