In the early hours of September 8, 2017, we were treated to a stunning start to this years Aurora hunting season in Scotland, as a result of a recent Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) from the sun. Looking north from the coastline just east of North Berwick, East Lothian, we were treated to a gorgeous display of the Northern Lights with beautiful waves of colour right across the Firth of Forth; greens, purples and reds forming pillars and curtains of light. What a show!
