Scott Masterton: Landscape, Travel, Drone Photographer based in North Berwick, East Lothian, Scotland.
“I am a light hunter… my camera is my weapon.”
I capture light and use it to create unique landscape images with a modern contemporary feel.
I love exploring the beauty of our planet through photography. I especially like how the act of taking photographs helps to anchor me in the here and now, heightening my senses and enhancing the moment.
For me photography is about hunting light. Using the ancient instincts of the hunt to plan, reconnoitre, watch, wait, take aim and shoot. But instead of bringing death, I bring to life a unique moment of light and time, making it immortal.
I tend towards minimal long exposures in a lot of my images as I enjoy the empty places of our beautiful planet and I find the interaction of light and time particularly fascinating. My images reflect my vision of what I saw and experienced at the moment of capture.
